Basée près de Lyon, UVRER, spécialiste français du traitement des fluides et surfaces par rayonnements UV-C depuis 1982, franchit une nouvelle étape dans la valorisation des ressources hydriques avec le développement d’un système de désinfection du condensat végétal issu de la concentration de jus de fruits.

Ce projet innovant, mené en partenariat avec une usine de production de jus de citron en Uruguay, vise à réutiliser une eau, jusqu’ici rejetée, pour des usages internes tels que la dilution ou le déplacement de jus concentrés. Cette approche s’inscrit pleinement dans une démarche d’économie circulaire et de sobriété hydrique, enjeux centraux pour l’agro-industrie mondiale.

Défi et solution :

Le défi principal nécessite d’assurer une microbiologie complète, notamment vis-à-vis d’Alicyclobacillus acidoterrestris, une bactérie redoutée dans le secteur des jus, mais également de s’adapter à la complexité de la pénétration des rayons uvc dans ce fluide. Pour y répondre, UVRER a conçu un skid de traitement UV (sans chlore) sur mesure, intégrant un réacteur calibré.

L’installation inclut également un système de contrôle automatisé avec suivi en temps réel de la conductivité, garantissant la qualité et la traçabilité de l’eau traitée. Cette solution assure un niveau de sécurité sanitaire maximal, tout en réduisant les volumes d’eau consommés par l’usine.

Avec plus de quarante ans d’expérience, UVRER démontre une nouvelle fois sa capacité à concevoir des solutions technologiques adaptées aux contraintes spécifiques des procédés agroalimentaires, conciliant performance, durabilité et innovation.

Ce projet est né à la suite de la participation d’UVRER à la convention d’affaires internationale VIBE, organisée par Vegepolys Valley dans le cadre du SIVAL 2024 à Angers — un événement clé pour la mise en relation d’acteurs innovants de la filière végétale.

• REUSE (water reuse) involves recovering water after specific treatment for direct use without changing its quality, particularly for industrial, agricultural, or urban applications.

What are ultraviolet rays used for?

Already very present on the African continent and particularly in Kenya, UVRER is now looking across the Atlantic to offer its treatment solutions on the South American market. Colombia and Ecuador, to name a few, are major countries on the global horticulture market.

Our presence at the IFTF allowed us to come into contact with these new markets and to hold fruitful discussions, presaging future collaborations with many producers wishing to equip themselves with a technology of the future that has already been proven in their market.

Ultraviolet disinfection, how it works?
